French police have questioned around 100 people and seized their computers as part of a months-long operation to crack down on child pornography, a police source said Friday.

The probe was conducted by police from the northern city of Amiens after they discovered hundreds of child sex photos and videos on a website hosted outside of France.

The investigation showed that 345 people in France had clicked more than three times on pages on the website, which suggested that they had voluntarily visited the site, the source said.

Those people were identified through their Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and on Thursday police questioned 100 of them in various parts of France and removed their computers for inspection.

If incriminating material is found they may be charged.

More of those identified may be questioned in the coming days, in France #|100|# in several other countries, the source said.
